Poker Painting | 2013 | mixed | maximum: 120”x48”x8”

I set out to make a painting that could win a competition through purely physical means. A series of gears and levers are concealed within this painting’s stretcher. When a viewer’s motion activates this system, pokers protrude from the sides of the painting. These pokers reach out with the intention of knocking neighbouring paintings from their hanging hardware and onto the floor.
